I knew if I stayed up just a few minutes longer I'd be first in line for a series of complete guesses. Movie maven, me? No.
1. Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall, and this is the one where she says "put your lips together and blow" isn't it? Not that I've ever seen it. Is it "On The Waterfront"? God knows why that one came into my mind.
2. Okay, the dog is Asta, and I only know that because I do crosswords a lot. Myrna Loy, but I'm spacing on the guy's name, and the only movie title appearing in my brain is "The Thin Man" so there you go.
3. Um. "My Beautiful Laundrette"?
4. Rocky I. Why not. I never saw any of the movies but it's a boxing ring, so what the hell.
5. No, wait, THIS is "My Beautiful Laundrette." I do not know what significance electrical tape plays in the Jewish calendar though.
As I go reeling off, defeated again - if only you'd done FOREIGN B&W. I would have known "Les Enfants du Paradis" and "Metropolis".
1. Key Largo 2. Is that Orson Welles? If it is, how about the Magnificent Ambersons? 3. Clerks 4. Raging Bull 5. No clue. How about, um "Bondage in the Time of Cholera?". Except with Jewish people.
1. Key Largo? (I can't get that damn song out of my head now). 2. The Thin Man (or a sequel) 3. Clerks 4. Raging Bull 5. My Beautiful Laundrette (A young DDL is my only clue).
I flickr daily - using "quilt" as a my search guide. Jerry got a nice shot of your quilt & it was nice to see it appropriately credited. I used to do that, so I know the extra bit of effort that it took. With my Luck (It has happened) Michael would have e-mailed flickr & told them that I was violating he copyright - so I quite giving credit to those snooty "Art quilters.
Yes, Pi was very trippy...
I haven't been this happy to have failed a quiz so miserably... (Hey, I was the only on to get that one right, right?)
Voting in the Infinite Art Tournament? Awesome. And, please be aware that purely anonymous votes are not counted. You don't need to log in or use your real name, but you must identify yourself in some fashion for your vote to count.

So, with four out of five, we've got three winners of the MQXLII E.P.:
ReplyDeleteThe lovely G, recently reemerged in blogland to the delight of all, takes her 3rd E.P.
The lovely Mrs.5000 extends her lead on the all-time list, claiming Exclamation Point #17.
And the lovely Rex Parker, the King of Thursday, makes a visit to Monday to pick up his third piece of bling from the other L&TM5K Quiz.
Special nod to Calico, who recognized the trippy 90s film "Pi."
@Calico: Good spot on "Pi." And kind of amazing spot on the other. How did you happen to see that?
ReplyDelete@d: I'm tricky, but I'm not THAT tricky....
@G: Indiana, I think.
@DrSchnell: Nice Hail Mary.
@Mrs.5000: Couldn't have been THAT random....
@Rex: Almost USED Down By Law. Forgot about it when I was collecting images, though.
@Kadonk: No worries. I suck at them too.
@Critical Bill: Here's looking at you, kid! Here's to all the things we did!
@boo: Oh my God! Did television die?
